This page describes exactly how Encourage Us collects consent and what messages are sent. Encourage Us is a service of Nuclearsiloman LLC.

Who receives messages

A parent or family member buys a subscription and provides their college student's first name and US mobile number. The student is the message recipient. The purchaser and the recipient are different people, which is why consent is confirmed by the student directly and cannot be given on their behalf.

How consent is collected

1. The purchaser signs in at encourageus.app, chooses a plan, and enters their student's first name and mobile number. Before submitting, they see this notice: "They have to say yes before anything is sent." They are also shown a live preview of the exact invitation their student will receive.
2. After payment, we send the student exactly one invitation message. This is the only message sent before consent:

   Hi Emma! Kevin signed you up for a short daily note of encouragement from Encourage Us. They said: "Love you, good luck this semester." Reply YES to start. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

3. Nothing further is sent unless the student replies YES from their own phone. The purchaser cannot opt in for them, and no path in the product allows it.
4. On replying YES, the student receives a confirmation carrying the full program terms:

   You're in, Emma! Encourage Us sends up to 1 msg/day. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Terms: encourageus.app/terms Privacy: encourageus.app/privacy

5. If the student does not reply within 14 days, no further messages are ever sent and the purchaser is offered a refund. Each phone number may receive only one invitation, ever, across all purchasers.

What is sent after opt-in

Short encouragement messages written for college students, on the schedule the purchaser chose: every day, weekdays, three times a week, or weekly. At most one message per day. An optional birthday message replaces that day's regular message rather than adding a second. Examples:

One class, one day at a time. You don't have to figure out the whole semester today.Homesick is just love with some mileage on it. Call home tonight.Happy birthday! Hope today is exactly your kind of day.

Recurring messages contain no links, no promotions, and no third-party content. We never send marketing.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP at any time to stop all messages immediately. STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT are all honored. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for help, which returns:

Encourage Us: short notes of encouragement, gifted by someone who cares about you. Reply STOP to opt out. Support: [email protected]

A recipient's decision to stop is theirs alone. The purchaser cannot restart messages on their behalf; only the recipient can, by texting START.

Rates and frequency

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency depends on the plan chosen by the purchaser, up to one message per day, plus the one-time invitation and one confirmation.
